NEW ORLEANS, LA – All-Academic Athletes for the 2023 NCAA Divvision III Men's Track & Field seasons were announced on Thursday evening by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), with Buffalo State's
Chris Kaszynski (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore West) earning this prestigious honor.
In order to be named to the All-Academic list, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30, and athletically must have completed the season among the top 50 individuals in their event in the country of participate in the Indoor or Outdoor National Championships.
Kaszynski, a sophomore business major, completed a record-breaking season for the Bengals which including school records in both the indoor and outdoor pole vault. The pole vaulter took third place at the indoor conference meet, earning third team All-SUNYAC honors in the process. His top mark of the outdoor season came at the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic, with a mark of 4.90 meters that broke his own school record. That mark earned him USTFCCCA All-Niagara Region honors, while also qualifying for the national championship meet. In the classroom, Kaszynski has a 3.60 cumulative GPA through the Spring 2023 semester, and was recently selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.
