Women's Cross Country Takes Third to Open Season at Sorbera Memorial Race

HAMBURG, NY – Freshman Grace Marion (Tecumseh, ON/A21 Academy) finished fourth individually, and the Buffalo State women's cross country team took third as a team, as the Bengals opened up the season on Saturday at the Hilbert Meghan Sorbera Memorial Race.

FOR THE BENGALS
  • Marion crossed the finish line of the 5k course in 21:55 in her first collegiate race.
  • Destiny Rivera (Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn Liberal Arts) took 14th in 25:36.
  • Kayla Sterner (Lockport, NY/St. Mary's) and Jenna Nguyen (Syracuse, NY/Henninger) finished in 18th and 19th place, respectively.
  • Katelyn Becker (Buffalo, NY/School for Applied Tech) rounded out the top five for Buffalo State.
UP NEXT 

The Bengals will take next weekend off, then compete at the Yellowjacket Invitational on September 16.
