PATCHOGUE, NY – The Buffalo State women's volleyball team swept both of their matchups today as they earned 3-0 victories over St. Joseph's University Long Island and Baruch College this afternoon at the Danzi Athletic Center.

- Erin Mergler (Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) and Ella Wittman (Cheektowaga, NY/Springville Griffith) led the Bengals with seven kills each.
- Riley Domin (Getzville, NY/Williamsville South) and Karlie Shaffer (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown East) combined for 31 assists in the win.
- Wittman and Adi Vergara (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico/Kingdom Christian) each had 12 digs for the Bengals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State opened the match with an impressive offensive burst as they jumped out to an early 6-0 lead.
- The Bengals offense continued to surge as the first set saw their biggest lead hit 10 before they scored the final three points to secure the set.
- The second set proved to be more competitive as St. Joseph's stayed within reach of the Bengals.
- With a score of 12-11, Mergler led the way as Buffalo State went on an 8-0 run to pull away.
- The Bengals put the second set away scoring each of the last five points.
- Buffalo State finished strong in the final set to complete the three-set sweep.
FOR THE FOES
- Madison Gremli paced the team with seven kills.
- Katie D'Angelo led the way with 18 assists and 9 digs.

- Niaya Vohland (Lockport, NY/Lockport) chipped in seven kills while Shaffer and Domin contributed a combined 28 assists.
- Samantha Coakley (Lockport, NY/Lockport) had six kills and seven digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengals jumped out again with a 4-0 start in the first set.
- Buffalo State continued their offensive momentum as they never let their led fall under five throughout the remainder of the set.
- The opening of the second set was a competitive back-and-forth affair.
- After a 7-2 Bengals run, Buffalo State began to pull away.
- After an Eden Harrison (Eldersburg, MD/Century) kill, Buffalo State secured the second set after scoring seven of the last nine points.
- The Bengals dominated the final set and cruised to a double-header sweep.

- Baruch's offensive leader tallied six kills.
- Caroline Elfner led the way with 11 digs.
