HOUGHTON, NY – The Buffalo State women's volleyball team swept their matchup with the Houghton Highlanders this evening at the Nielsen Center.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Ella Wittman (Cheektowaga, NY/Springville Griffith) led the Bengals with 15 kills over three sets.
- Riley Domin (Getzville, NY/Williamsville South) dished out 22 digs while Karlie Shaffer (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown East) added 16 of her own.
- Wittman added 10 digs to her line score while Adi Vergara (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico/Kingdom Christian) chipped in 11 digs in the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengal offense came out of the gate on fire as they opened the evening with a 5-0 run.
- After the Highlanders were able to get on the board, the Bengals stretched their lead to a set-high of 10.
- Buffalo State's offense continued to roll in the opening set and secured the victory after a kill from Erin Mergler (Amherst, NY/Williamsville North).
- In the second set, Houghton came out aggressive and kept competitive much of the way.
- Led by Eden Harrison (Eldersburg, MD/Century), Buffalo State went on a 9-4 run to give them the lead and eventually the second set after a kill from Wittman.
- The Highlanders took control in the beginning of the third and final set.
- The Bengals regained control after an 11-2 run after an attack error from Houghton.
- Buffalo State would score five of the last six points to secure their second sweep of the Highlanders this season.
FOR THE FOES
- Ainslie Reimer led the Highlanders with 11 kills in the effort.
- Morgan Brace had 15 assists while Reimer and Hannah Catalino had eight digs each.
