CORTLAND, NY – The Buffalo State men's soccer team fell short in their SUNYAC matchup with #24 Cortland Red Dragons today with a 2-0 final on Holloway Field.

• Yousif Kowa (Buffalo, NY/Hutch Tech) led the Bengals with three shots including a shot on goal.
• Shae Wirt (Overland Park, KS/St. Thomas Aquinas) made nine saves in the effort for Buffalo State.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After a pair of fouls to open the action, Cortland got on the board first just four minutes into the action.
• Cortland's offense kept the pressure but were unable to capitalize after three Bengal yellow cards in the first half.
• Kowa gave the Bengals their best opportunity late in the first half, however, a clutch save from Cortland kept the Red Dragons up 1-0 after the first half.
• The Red Dragons offense came out aggressive in the second half and scored their second goal of the afternoon to take a 2-0 lead.
• The Bengals had another opportunity late in the second half after a header from Diego Rivera (Hudson, NY/Cairo Durham) went high over the crossbar.
• Cortland outshot the Bengals with a 21-8 margin.

FOR THE FOES

• Yasin Choukri and Jack Pinnata each scored for Cortland.
• Jordan Ott made two saves to earn the shutout.
