BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State men's hockey team dropped a 5-1 decision to Oswego State in SUNYAC action on Saturday evening at the Ice Arena.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Joe Glamos (Baldwinsville, NY/New Jersey Titans) scored the lone Buffalo State goal.
- Connor Bizal (Elk River, MN/Boston Jr. Rangers) and Jason Kwestel (Rockaway, NJ/Valley Wildcats) each had an assist.
- Marcus Cumberworth (Surrey, BC/Olds Grizzlys) stopped 27 shots in just over two periods of play.
- Liam Gross (Fort Washington, PA/New Jersey Rockets) stopped all six shots he faced over the final 15:13.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oswego State took advantage of a turnover in the neutral zone early in the first period, as Shane Bull ripped a wrist shot past Cumberworth into the top right corner of the net.
- Aidan LaValley (Champlain, NY/Vermont Lumberjacks) was stopped on an excellent opportunity in front of goal with a great glove save by Oswego State goaltender Cal Schell.
- Late in the period, a five-minute major and game misconduct gave the Lakers a man-advantage in that carried into the second period.
- Cumberworth made 14 saves in the opening frame to keep the 1-0 score into the intermission.
- At 1:26 of the second, Oswego netted a power-play goal to make it 2-0.
- The Bengals responded just over eight minutes into the period, as Glamos sent a wrist shot into the top corner after a pass from Kwestel.
- The Bengals looked to equalize on an Oswego State penalty, but instead the Lakers scored a short-handed goal to lead 3-1 after two periods.
- Oswego State scored twice in the opening five minutes of the third period to extend the lead.
- Gross came on in relief after the fifth goal, and stopped every shot for the remainder of the game.
FOR THE FOES
- A.J. Ryan scored a pair of goals for the Lakers, while Schell stopped 30-of-31 shots.
