BUFFALO, NY – Visiting Cortland scored the game-winning goal early in the third period, and hung on for a 5-4 victory over the Buffalo State men's hockey team in SUNYAC action on Sunday evening.

- Jason Kwestel (Rockaway, NJ/Valley Wildcats) and Timur Gavrilovich (Minsk, Belarus/South Shore Kings) both had a pair of assists.
- Vadim Kiriakov (Tyumen, Russia/Altay Ust-Kamenogorsk) and Tyler Penree (New Hartford, NY/Vermont Lumberjacks) both scored a goal for the Bengals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengals got the scoring started early in the first period, as Penree's shot from the boards just above the goal line snuck past the Cortland goaltender just 20 seconds into the game.
- Cortland responded with a rebound goal less than three minutes later.
- Kiriakov's team-leading sixth goal of the season gave the Bengals the lead again minutes later off an assist from Gavrilovich.
- The Red Dragons scored twice more in the first, including a goal with 25 seconds remaining, to take a 3-2 lead at the intermission.
- Cortland added another goal in the second period, right after the expiration of a Buffalo State penalty, and the Red Dragons led 4-2 after two periods.
- Buffalo State quickly netted two goals early in the third period, with Meure scoring off of the goaltender from behind the net 37 seconds into the period, then Figueroa netting with a deke in front of the goal less than two minutes later.
- The Red Dragons scored the go-ahead goal on a 2-on-1 break at the 5:57 mark of the period.
- The Bengals pulled Doran for an extra attacker in the final two minutes, and the Red Dragons also took a penalty, but Buffalo State was unable to find an equalizing goal.

- Devlin O'Kane scored twice for Cortland, while Jack Riedell stopped 23 shots and had an assist.
