HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Buffalo State opened the first set from behind, going down early 5-2 in set points, before waking up and rallying to four straight points and taking a 10-8 lead. The Red Dragons would rally back, going on their own four straight point stretch…but the left the door open too long for the Bengals, who would reclaim the lead late 21-19 and carry that momentum into a 25-23 first set win.
  • The second set would be all Bengals, taking early leads of 14-11, and 19-15, which would lead to five straight points and the Bengals clinching a win in the third set.
  • In the third set, the Bengals would go up 9-5 in the clinching set, with the Red Dragons fighting back and keeping the game within arm reach at 13-10. The Bengals would answer back and rally four straight points before pinning the Red Dragons with a 24-19 lead. As the Red Dragons fought to take this game into a fourth set, the Bengals would reach deep and pull out the remaining point needed, winning and clinching the game 25-21.
FOR THE FOES
  • Katie Spano led the Red Dragons with nine kills, with Hailey Herrera leading the Red Dragons with three aces and 14 assists.
