NEW PALTZ, NY – The Buffalo State men's soccer team suffered their first loss of the season with a 2-0 final against the New Paltz Hawks on South Turf Field this afternoon.

- Isaac Felder (Oak Park, IL/Oak Park River Forest) led the Bengals with four shots.
- Shae Wirt (Overland Park, KS/St. Thomas Aquinas) and Alex Velasquez (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac) combined for five saves in the effort.
- Coming into the day at 13-0-1, the Bengals nearly matched their best start to a season in program history when they were 13-0-2 back in 1970.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both sides were hectic at the start with five yellow cards within the first 25 minutes of action.
- Each team attempted to find the back of the net, but strong goaltending sent the matchup into halftime with a 0-0 score.
- New Paltz broke through late in the second half off a rebound attempt. The Hawks would score again less than two minutes later to take full advantage.
- The Bengals could not get any offensive momentum going as they were outshot 16-11 overall.
FOR THE FOES
- Ryan Zindler and Tim Kane each scored for the Hawks.
- Christian Micheli needed to make just three saves in the win.
