BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's volleyball team earned a four set win in their SUNYAC Opener against the Potsdam Bears tonight at the Sports Arena.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Ella Wittman (Cheektowaga, NY/Springville Griffith) led the Bengals with 16 kills and a .481 attack percentage while also chipping in 14 digs.
- Karlie Shaffer (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown East) dished out 39 assists while Sarah Dauer (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) had 22 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After jumping out to a 11-9 lead, the Bengals found their rhythm on offense in the opening set and went on a 9-2 run to take control.
- Despite a late surge from the Bears, Buffalo State was able to hang on to secure the set.
- Buffalo State jumped out early in the second set, however, Potsdam stuck around.
- With the score 19-all, the Bears were able to go unanswered and score the final six points to win the set.
- The Bengals regained their momentum and took in the third set, cruising with a final 10-6 run.
- Buffalo State kept their foot on the gas in the fourth set and held off any threat of a Potsdam comeback.
FOR THE FOES
- Megan Henry led the Bears with 15 kills.
- Sophia Layer had 24 assists in the effort.
