UTICA, NY – The Buffalo State men's basketball team fell short in their matchup tonight with the Utica Pioneers with a final score of 80-63 from the Clark Athletic Center.

- Bryce Williams (Jamaica, NY/Campus Magnet) continued his strong start to the season leading the team with 15 points and three assists.
- Maley McCurty (Syracuse, NY) led the team with six total rebounds while Nate Severson (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) chipped in 11 points.
- As a team, the Bengals shot 10-15 from the free throw line and out rebounded the Pioneers 28-27 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State had the advantage early jumping out to a 15-9 start.
- Later in the half with the Bengals lead at seven, the Pioneers went on a 12-5 run to even the score at 30-all.
- Utica kept the pressure on and carried a 39-35 lead into halftime.
- The Pioneers offense came out aggressive in the second half as they grew their lead to 14 over the Bengals.
- Buffalo State was able to gradually cut the lead to five, however, Utica was able to hit a trio of three pointers late to pad their lead as the Pioneers would eventually secure the win.
FOR THE FOES
- Damien Call led the Pioneers with 19 points and six rebounds.
- Call also shot 7-10 from the field in the win.
