HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Coming off a week-break, the Bengals looked to stack some wins as they start their early portion of conference play. In the first period, things were a standstill between the Bengals and the Mustangs, as each team fought for an early lead. As the first period buzzer sounded, both teams would enter the locker room tied 0-0, with early adjustments upcoming for the second period. The Bengals outshot the Mustangs, 16-9, in the period.
  • In the second period, the Bengals took control of the game, with a goal by Connor Bizal (Elk River, MN/Boston Jr. Rangers) in the first ten minutes of play. The Bengals would continue their offensive attack with a goal by Powell, followed up by a goal from Joe Glamos (Baldwinsville, NY/New Jersey Titans) two minutes later. The Bengals would enter the locker room with a 3-0 lead, looking to close out this SUNYAC matchup in the third period. The Bengals outshot the Mustangs 18-4 in the period.
  • As the third period began, things looked a little shaky for the Bengals as the Mustangs were able to get on board with a goal within the first minute of play. This goal would lead to an aggressive attack by the Mustangs, but to no avail as the Bengals would respond with their final goal of the night by Vadim Kiriakov (Tyumen, Russia/Altay Ust-Kamenogorsk) and notch a win in the win column. The Bengals outshot the Mustangs 10-8 in the period.
FOR THE FOES
  • Evan Miles was credited with the lone goal for the Mustangs, with Logan Robins being credited for the assist.
