HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first set for the Bengals was a rocky one, as the Bengals faced an early 6-2 deficit looking to comeback. As play continued, the Bengals would rally seven straight points to take a 12-11 lead…but the Lakers wouldn't go down without a fight, rallying four straight points, then five straight points to take a 24-19 lead on the Bengals. While the Bengals would rally four straight points, it wouldn't be enough as the Lakers would close out the first set with a win 25-23.
- In the second and third set, both teams would trade wins as the Bengals would return with a dominating 25-18 second set win, only for the Lakers to answer back with a 25-23 third set, looking to clinch a victory in the fourth set.
- Opening the fourth set, the Lakers would rally nine straight points, taking a commanding 9-0 lead. As things would turn out, this would be the moment things went into kick drive for the Bengals, fighting their way back and tying the game at 18-18. This would lead to a fight straight points rallying by the Bengals, winning the fourth set 25-21 and looking to close the game in five.
- In the last and final set of the game, both teams appeared neck and neck…but a four straight point rally from the Bengals kept this game just out of reach for the Lakers, before closing this matchup with a 15-10 fifth set win, taking the win 3-2.
