BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's basketball team dropped their regular season home debut to the Penn State Behrend Lions, 80-57.

- Ashley Tucker (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore West) led all scorers today with 24 points, going 9-13 from the field, 6-8 from the free throw line, while also pulling down four rebounds.
- Adiya Jones (Washington, DC/McKinley Technology) led all Bengals with eight rebounds, with Chloe Hanson (Skaneateles, NY/Moravia) and Mya Brown (Buffalo, NY/Frontier) pulling seven rebounds both.
- The Bengals shot 34.4% from the floor, while going 60.0% from the free-throw line.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Coming off their first win of the season, the Bengals looked to a win on their home floor in front of family and friends, for the first time in the 2024-25 season. In the first quarter, the Bengals got behind the early, as they Lions team-play was on full display. The Bengals would go down in the first quarter, 21-13.
- In the second quarter, the Lions picked up from their first quarter play, extending their lead to 19 points as the Bengals looked to chip away as they could. After a late push by the Bengals shrunk their deficit to 13 points, the Lions would answer back and extend their lead into halftime by 17 points, 47-30.
- Coming out of halftime, the Bengals looked to regroup and put a run together. However, the third quarter was all Lions, holding the Bengals to only eight points in the third, and head into the fourth quarter up by 34 points, 72-38. This lead would be chipped down by the Bengals in the fourth quarter, but it was too late, as the final buzzer sounded and the Bengals would go down, 80-57.
FOR THE FOES
- Morgan Altavilla led the Lions in scoring with 24 points.
- Alaina Fabian led the Lions with ten rebounds, while Altavilla chipping in with six assists and Madilyn Boyer with five assists.
