HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengals traveled to Morrisville looking to continue their fight within the SUNYAC. In the first period, the Bengals defense had to clamp down quickly, as the Mustangs came out on the attack early. This attack would be a mainstay for the Mustangs, scoring a goal late into the period…taking the lead into the first intermission 1-0. The Bengals were outshot seven to three in the first period.
- In the second period, the Bengals would get onto the board, tying the game midway in the second period. After some back-and-forth play, the Mustangs would once again go on the attack, peppering the Auge and the Bengals defense with shots…but credit to the Bengals for standing tall, and holding the Mustangs off the board and entering the second intermission tied at one. The Bengals were outshot by the Mustangs 12-9.
- The third period saw even play amongst these two with each team battling for puck possession in the neutral zone. However, the Mustangs were able to pounce on their chances throughout the game, scoring the game-winning goal midway in the third period and giving the Bengals their first SUNYAC loss of the season. The Bengals and the Mustangs were tied in shots with seven.
FOR THE FOES
- Tilly Couture and Allicen Bouchard both scored for the Mustangs.
- Elizabeth Timby was credited with 18 saves on 19 shots.
