HOW IT HAPPENED
- Coming off a heart-breaking loss at home, the Bengals looked to gain some road confidence, entering their first SUNYAC matchup of the season. In the first half, both teams traded baskets in a battle to gain the lead momentum, with the Bengals pouncing on the Red Dragons defense to go up eight-points. After some more back and forth play in the middle of the first half, the Bengals held on tight to finish the first half up six, as both teams headed into the locker-room for halftime. The Bengals shot 38% from the floor in the first half.
- The second half saw come out hot, extending their lead from six-points to 16-points early in the half. However, the Red Dragons would answer back, going on a 9-0 run, bringing the game within single digits. This run was the momentum shifter of the game, as the Red Dragons continued to claw into the Bengals lead midway in the second half, before taking a two-point lead with under ten-minutes left in the game. As the minutes closed, both teams traded baskets and the lead, but the Bengals offense wasn't able to keep pace, with the Red Dragons hitting some clutch baskets and stealing this SUNYAC matchup from the Bengals hands.
FOR THE FOES
- Caleb Brown led the Red Dragons with 14 points, with Zyeir Lawrence chipping in with 13 points. Lawrence also led the Red Dragons with eight rebounds.
