INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE

  • Maley McCurty (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) led the Bengals with five rebounds, with Williams, Parkinson and Ephraim Strong (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) each pulling down three boards. Williams also led the Bengals with three assists on the night as well.
  • The Bengals shot 50.0% from the floor, while going 57.1% from the three-point arc and 52.6% free-throw line.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Looking to pick up their first true road win, the Bengals faced a talented Hawks squad in enemy territory. As play began in the first half, the Bengals held their own, going shot for shot with the Hawks. As the back-and-forth play looked to continue, the Hawks would go on 9-0 and take an eight-point lead midway in the first half. Credit to the Bengals though, as their drive never stopped, heading into halftime only down a point. The Bengals shot 51.7% from the floor in the first half.
  • The second half would see the story continue for both teams. As the Bengals would pull closer, the Hawks would go on mini runs to keep the distance from the Bengals. This would lead to another 9-0 run by the Hawks, going up double digits on the Bengals by the midway point in the half. The Bengals would continue to fight back the Hawks offense, bringing the game down to a four-point lead, but the Hawks would prove to be too much for the Bengals to contain, taking a commanding 19-point lead with only four minutes remaining in the half…and would be enough to propel the Hawks past the Bengals by 16-points. The Bengals shot 47.6% from the floor in the second half.
FOR THE FOES
  • Dakoda Smith led all scorers with 20 points, with A.J. Knight chipping in 16 points. Smith would also lead all players with 12 rebounds and four assists.
