HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Coming into this matchup against the #10 Red Dragons, the Bengals looked to finish their last weekend of play before the Holiday Break in winning fashion. Opening the first period, play stayed even as both teams looked to gain the upper hand in this matchup. As the period closed, the Red Dragons were able to get on the board and enter the first intermission up 1-0. The Bengals were outshot eight to four in the period.
  • Coming out of the intermission and down only a goal, the Bengals looked to an attacking period to try and even things up, but the Red Dragons had plans of their own, attacking the Bengals defense. This pressure would be too much for the Bengals defense, letting up a goal midway through the period and trailing the Red Dragons into the second intermission, 2-0. The Bengals were outshot 16-11 in the period.
  • In the third period, the Red Dragons would stay on the attack, tallying another goal in the first minute of the third period. While the Bengals did their best to answer back, this lead would prove to be too much, with another goal from the Red Dragons would finish this game and the Bengals shutout in the game. The Bengals were outshot 10 to six in the period.
FOR THE FOES
  • Taryn Raisanen picked up two goals in the game, with Drew Kopek and Kayla Persinger were each credited with the remaining two goals.
  • Molly Goergen picked up the shutout win for the Red Dragons, making 21 saves in net.
