ROCHESTER, NY – The Buffalo State men's volleyball team earned a four-set victory over Potsdam on Saturday afternoon at the Nazareth Invite.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Jake Woelfel (Buffalo, NY/West Seneca West) led the Bengals with 14 kills.
- Gavin Wilczewski (Elma, NY/East Aurora) chipped in 10 kills.
- Jackson Stang (Tonawanda, NY/Sweet Home) had 41 assists.
- Alex Nuez (Patterson, NJ/Eastside) had 13 digs for the Bengals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trailing 2-1 in the first set, Buffalo State went on a 10-0 run to lead 11-2. The Bengals then ran away with the set, finished off by a service ace by Woelfel to win 25-10.
- The Bengals jumped out to an 11-5 lead in the second set behind two kills by Wilczewski and a kill each from George Muriel (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) and Christopher Laboy (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Lafayette). Potsdam closed to within two points at 12-10, but the Bengals extended their lead back up to seven on the way to a 25-18 win.
- Potsdam came from behind to win the third set with a 25-19 win.
- The Bengals closed out the match in the fourth set for the victory.
- With the Bengals leading 16-13 in the fourth set, Potsdam went on an 8-0 run to lead 21-16. Buffalo State rallied to tie the score at 23-23, and after fighting off a set point for Potsdam, the Bengals won the final three points to take the set 26-24 after a combo block by Kaden Strong (Buffalo, NY/West Seneca East) and Wilczewski.
FOR THE FOES
- Duncan Tenhagen led Potsdam with 17 kills.
