HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengals came out firing in the first period, registering four of the first five shots on goal of the frame. Oswego goaltender Lexi Levy was able to turn aside each shot to keep the game scoreless.
- Oswego had a chance on a breakaway late in the period, but the shot from in close went over the top of the crossbar as the teams went to intermission scoreless.
- Auge made an excellent save on a breakaway attempt early in the second period to keep the game tied.
- Near the midway point in the period, Oswego struck first on a shot from the left point by Helen Vandamme that bounced off the crossbar. After a lengthy discussion by the referees, the initial call of "No Goal" was overturned to an Oswego goal.
- Auge stopped 12 shots in the period to keep the deficit at just one.
- Early in the third period, Willick was stopped on a partial in close by Levy, and the Lakers then sent a pass the other way to Mack Hull, who skated around a defender and Auge before depositing the puck into the net.
- The score remained that way for the remainder of the game, although Buffalo State pulled Auge in the final minutes in an attempt to break up the shutout.
FOR THE FOES
- Levy stopped all 22 shots she faced in goal for the shutout.
