BUFFALO, NY – Led by 15 kills from Christopher Laboy (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Lafayette), the Buffalo State men's volleyball team earned a three-set sweep over the visiting Hilbert Hawks tonight at the Sports Arena.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE

• Laboy's 15 kills were a season high as he also had an assist and a pair of blocks.
• Chi Jackson (Buffalo, NY/Cheektowaga) chipped in nine kills and four digs.
• Jackson Stang (Tonawanda, NY/Sweet Home) dished out 33 assists while Alex Nuez (Patterson, NJ/Eastside) had a team-high nine digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After a 2-2 start in the opening set, the Bengals would storm on a 12-6 run to take command.
• The Bengals scored six of the final eight points capped-off by an attack error from Hilbert to claim the first set.
• The Hawks opened the second set with an 8-5 lead.
• Buffalo State battled back with a 5-1 run capped by a service ace from Stang to reclaim the lead.
• Despite a late push from the Hawks, the Bengals were able to close out the second set.
• In the third set, Hilbert gradually battled back late after being down by seven.
• The Hawks went on a 10-2 run to push the Bengals as they needed only one point to win the set.
• The Bengals were able to rally back and score the final five points to secure the sweep.

FOR THE FOES

• Alex Overhoff led the Hawks with 10 kills and four digs.
• Austin Chandler dished out 22 assists in the effort.
