ROCHESTER, NY – The Buffalo State men's volleyball team dropped a three-set match to No. 10 Nazareth on Friday evening to open the Nazareth Invite.

• Kaden Strong (Buffalo, NY/West Seneca East) led the Bengals with six kills.
• Christopher Laboy (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Lafayette) and Gavin Wilczewski (Elma, NY/East Aurora).
• Jackson Stang (Tonawanda, NY/Sweet Home) had 15 assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• With Nazareth leading 16-14 in the first set, the Golden Flyers went on a 5-0 run. The Bengals responded with four consecutive points behind kills from Stang, an ace by Strong, and a block by Chi Jackson (Buffalo, NY/Cheektowaga) and George Muriel (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg). Nazareth then responded with four of the final five points to take the set.
• Nazareth never trailed in the second set, opening up a 22-9 led on the way to a 25-12.
• The Bengals were within one point in the third set, but Nazareth closed out the match with four consecutive points.

FOR THE FOES

• Josh Weaver led Nazareth with 12 kills.
