CORTLAND, NY – The Buffalo State women's basketball team dropped a SUNYAC contest to New Paltz by a final score of 69-41 on Tuesday evening. The game was played at SUNY Cortland in order to accommodate travel to make up the contest from January 13 that was postponed due to inclement weather in Buffalo.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Chloe Hanson (Skaneateles, NY/Moravia) led the Bengals with eight points. She also grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
- Adiya Jones (Washington, DC/McKinley Technology) and Emma Cohen (Utica, NY/TR Proctor) each dished out two assists.
- Maddy Stearns (Clarence, NY/Clarence) and Cohen had six points apiece.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks jumped out to a 13-2 lead in the first quarter and led by as many as 16 points late in the frame.
- Cohen's floater in the paint in the final minute made it 20-6 after one quarter.
- The Bengals opened the second quarter on a 6-2 run to cut the deficit to 12 points after a layup by Grace Carey (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island).
- The Hawks rebuilt the lead up to 17 points, but the Bengals scored the last points of the half after Josie Fleming (Clarence, NY/Clarence) stole the ball and hit a buzzer beater with her left hand to make the score 34-19 at halftime.
- New Paltz outscored Buffalo State 17-14 in the third quarter, extending its lead to 18 points.
- The Hawks held Buffalo State to just eight points in the final quarter, leading by as many as 30 in the victory.
FOR THE FOES
- Brianna Fitzgerald led all scorers with 15 points, and also had four assists.
- Morgan Hammell and Gabby Palladino were each in double figures, with 13 and 12 points respectively.
