Women's Lacrosse Earns Impressive Win Over Keuka

KEUKA PARK, NY – The Buffalo State women's lacrosse team earned their second-straight win with an impressive 15-3 final over the Keuka Wolves tonight at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
  • Vanessa Willick (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville North) led the Bengals offense with six points on five goals and an assist with six draw controls.
  • Sage Running Rabbit (Siksika, AB/Strathmore) added two goals, two assists, and a team-high four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
  • Six other Bengals tallied at least one point.
  • In goal, Moira Penot (Clifton Heights, PA/Upper Darby) allowed just three goals while making four saves in the win.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  •  Buffalo State got the scoring started netting the first four goals of the matchup.
  • After Keuka got on the board, the Bengals went on another 4-0 run to lead 8-1 at the half.
  • Keuka picked up a pair of goals in the third to try and cut into the Bengals lead, however, the Bengals offense kept the pressure on and led 11-3 heading into the final 15 minutes of action.
  • Buffalo State added four more goals in the final minutes to secure the win.
  • The Bengals outshot Keuka with a dominant margin of 46-11 while also dominating draw controls with 15 compared to the Wolves six.
 
FOR THE FOES
  • Julia Bauder had a goal and three draw controls to lead the Wolves.
  • Lauren Vitello made 14 saves in the effort.
