NEW PALTZ, NY – The Buffalo State women's lacrosse team dropped their SUNYAC Opener with the New Paltz Hawks this afternoon with a final score of a 15-1 on North Turf Field.

- Tala Abdellatif (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) scored the lone goal for the Bengals.
- Vanessa Willick (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville North) picked up two ground balls while Maddison Sage (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa) and Nevaeh Herd (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) each had a pair of caused turnovers.
- Moira Penot (Clifton Heights, PA/Upper Darby) and Brielle Lum (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) combined for ten saves in the effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- New Paltz jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the first quarter.
- After a green card on the Hawks, Abdellatif was able to net her fourth goal of the season on a free position attempt.
- New Paltz added a trio of goals to lead 8-1 at halftime.
- The Hawks kept the offense going in the second half as they were able to cruise the rest of the way for the victory.
FOR THE FOES
- Morgan Atwater led the Hawks with five goals, an assist, two ground balls, three caused turnovers, and four draw controls.
- Gabriella Tommaso made four saves in goal in the win.
