Women's Lacrosse Falls Short Against Plattsburgh

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's lacrosse team fell just a few goals short against Plattsburgh State with a final score of 11-9 on Coyer Field this afternoon.

  • Buffalo State inched closer with a pair of goals in the second, however, the Cardinals added three more goals to carry a 7-3 lead into halftime.
  • After an early Plattsburgh goal in the third, Buffalo State caught fire and went on to score five of the next six goals to trail by one with one quarter left to play.
  • The Cardinals were able to play strong defense and hold off the Bengals comeback efforts to secure the win.
 
FOR THE FOES
  • Cynthia Barnosky had five goals for the Cardinals.
  • Lillian Gilroy and Sam Lombardi had two caused turnovers each.
  • Goaltender Lilla Nease had seven saves in the win.
