BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State softball team wrapped up a three-day homestand with a pair of victories in non-conference action over Nazareth, winning game one by a score of 5-1, then coming out victorious in game two by a score of 12-4.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Sarah Congelosi (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) went 2-for-3, scoring three runs and driving in another.
- Caitlyn Parsons (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) went 1-for-4 and drove in three runs.
- Cam O'Hara (Troy, NY/Catholic Central) had a hit, scored two runs, and drove in two more.
- Every starter had at least one hit for the Bengals.
- Izzy Pezdek (Lancaster, NY/Grand Island) went three innings for the win on the mound, while Madison Lucas (Oakdale, PA/West Allegheny) pitched two hitless innings in relief.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first four batters of the game reached safely for Nazareth, and the Golden Flyers scored four runs in the inning to lead early.
- After going hitless in the first two innings, Buffalo State took advantage of four Nazareth errors in the third inning to score 10 runs and lead 10-4.
- Congelosi ripped a single up the middle to drive in a run, Parsons pounded a double to left center to drive in two runs, Erin Paolilli (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington) had an RBI single to left, O'Hara drove a double off the fence to drive in two more runs, and Pezdek also had an RBI single in the inning.
- After Lucas came on in relief for two scoreless innings, Buffalo State earned the run-rule victory when Mya Hurley (Amherst, NY/Amherst) singled up the middle to drive in a run, and Parsons had an RBI groundout one batter later.

- Megan Russo had two hits with a double at the plate for Nazareth.

- Kaitlyn Schnitzer (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) went the distance on the rubber, allowing just one run on four hits for her first win of the year.
- Grace Albano (N. Tonawanda, NY/Niagara Wheatfield) went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs for the Bengals.
- Paolilli had a hit and two RBIs, while also scoring a run.
- Hurley went 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, and a run scored.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first two innings, Nazareth struck first on an RBI single up the middle by Haleigh Suitor.
- In the fourth inning, the Bengals scored four times, including three unearned runs to take the 4-1 lead.
- Paolilli singled up the middle to drive in two runs with the bases loaded, and Albano hammered a triple to center field to drive in two more runs.
- Kenzie Scott (Greene, NY/Greene) led off the fifth inning with a single to shortstop, stole second, and scored on Hurley's RBI single through the right side to make it 5-1.
- Schnitzer allowed just two hits over the final four innings to secure the victory for Buffalo State.
FOR THE FOES
- Ashley Bell was 2-for-2 with a run scored for the Golden Flyers.
