BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State softball team gets set to open up SUNYAC play this morning, facing off against Brockport on Sunday in a rescheduled and re-located doubleheader that will now begin at 2 pm on the Buffalo State Softball Field.

EYES ON THE BENGALS

• Buffalo State is back in action for the first time since March 23, when the Bengals defeated Kalamazoo, 3-2 on a walk-off sacrifice fly by Grace Albano (N. Tonawanda, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) to wrap up the annual spring trip to Florida. Buffalo State has a 5-6 overall record this season.
• Freshman Izzy Pezdek (Lancaster, NY/Grand Island) was named SUNYAC Pitcher of the Week on March 25, and has pitched to a 3-1 record with a 1.28 ERA over 27.1 innings to lead the Bengals.
• Lexi Quagliana (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) leads Buffalo State with three multi-hit games, recording two hits each against Tufts, Union, and Kalamazoo.
• Kenzie Scott (Greene, NY/Greene) is riding a four-game hitting streak heading into the conference opener, and is batting .286 for the season.

 
'BOUT BROCKPORT

• The Golden Eagles have a 5-11 overall record on the year.
• Six players on Brockport have recorded at least three hits in a game this season, with Paige Wentland going 4-for-4 against Knox and Riley Barrett having a pair of three-hit games against UW-River Falls and Houghton.
• The pitching staff has recorded a 7.07 ERA, allowing 98 earned runs and 119 runs overall, in 97.0 innings.

• Buffalo State is riding a three-game winning streak over Brockport, including a doubleheader sweep of the Golden Eagles last year on the Softball Field. The Bengals shut out Brockport in the opening game last year behind Madison Lucas' (Oakdale, PA/West Allegheny) first career seven-inning shutout.
