BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's volleyball team earned a split to close out their annual Bengal Challenge as they swept the Pitt-Bradford Panthers in three sets before falling to St. John Fisher in five sets at the Sports Arena. For the Bengals

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State dominated to an opening set win while scoring six of the final eight points.
- The Bengals kept the momentum going into the second set where they saw two 5-0 runs to take control of the match.
- Buffalo State cruised in the third set scoring four of the final six points to secure their second win of the tournament.

- Abby King has eight digs for the Panthers while Alexah Martinez dished out 11 assists.

- Wittman paced the Bengals with 14 kills while Nicole Delli Colli (Rye, NY/Rye) added 10 of her own.
- Karlie Shaffer (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown East) dished out 29 assists while Adi Vergara (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico/Kingdom Christian) had 27 digs in the effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cardinals took control early in the opening set; however, the Bengals went on a swift 7-0 run to tie things up 20-all.
- The Cardinals held on to secure the first set.
- The Bengals fought off two early rallies from St. John Fisher to win the second and third sets, respectively.
- The Cardinals found their rhythm again and dominated the end of the fourth set, forcing a decisive fifth and final set.
- St. John Fisher took the lead and never looked back and they cruised to victory in the fifth set.
FOR THE FOES
- Kaylene Noble had 18 kills to lead the Cardinals.
- Reilly Morrow compiled 39 assists and 15 digs.
