BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's volleyball team dropped their two matches in the Susquehanna University Tri-Match in four sets to Susquehanna University and Lebanon Valley College.
GAME ONE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State came out swinging in the first set and took an early 10-7 lead. However, the River Hawks fought back, consistently tying the Bengals in rallies, before the Bengals took the lead and road the momentum to a 25-23 first set win.
- The Bengals kept the fight alive in the 2nd and 3rd sets, with two-point leads in each of the respective sets. However, the River Hawks proved to be too strong and would close out each set with five straight points to lead the match series 2-1.
- In the 4th set, the fight remained as the Bengals would continue to trade set points with the River Hawks. However, the momentum was too strong for the Bengals, and they would go on to drop the final set of the match series.

- Amanda Gore led the River Hawks in kills, aces, and blocks.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Ella Wittman (Cheektowaga, NY/Springville Griffith) and Eden Harrison (Sykesville, MD/Century) led the Bengals with nine kills and with Wittman leading the Bengals with eight digs.
- Karlie Shaffer (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown East) dished out 22 assists while Cameron Rosenthal (Camillus, NY/West Genesee) and Kate Rutigilano (Martinsville, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) leading the Bengals with a block a piece.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Dutchmen and the Bengals fought for control early, as both teams threw haymakers to one another. The Dutchmen world rally to five-straight points twice in the set, but the Bengals would fight back to tie up the action. However, the Dutchmen proved to be too strong and would go on to take the first set win.
- The Dutchmen would come out strong and take the second set of the match, putting the Bengals at a 2-0 deficit.
- The Bengals fought back in the 3rd set, clinching a much-needed win as the Bengals looked to tie things in the 4th set.
- The Dutchmen started out hot, taking a 9-0 lead and never looked back; taking the Bengals down 3-1.
FOR THE FOES
- Taylor McInerney led the Dutchmen with 16 kills.
- Jasmine Sullivan led the Dutchmen with 17 assists and Abigail Souder led with 14 digs.
