HOW IT HAPPENED
- After suffering back-to-back losses at home, the Bengals looked to get on the win column in their last home game of January. Facing a talented Cortland Red Dragons team, the Bengals looked to out hustle the Red Dragons and withstand their attack. In the first quarter, things looked to be going the Bengals way, as the Bengals strong defensive play kept the Red Dragons frustrated and off the scoreboard. After some gritty play back and forth, the Bengals ended the first quarter up one on the Red Dragons.
- The second quarter would see a different story…as the Red Dragons began to overpower the Bengals on both ends of the floor. After the Bengals knocked down a three-pointer to take a three-point lead, the Red Dragons would finish the quarter on a 13-0 run and walk into halftime up 13 on the Bengals.
- Entering the third quarter, the Bengals struggled putting up points on a stiff Red Dragons defense. While the Bengals played hard, the Red Dragons proved to be too much, as they extended their lead in the quarter, with the Bengals deficit growing to 32-points entering the fourth quarter.
- In the fourth quarter, the Bengals would play their most complete quarter since the first, as they did their best keeping the Red Dragons off the board. But, too little, too late for the Bengals, as the Red Dragons cruised to a 41-point victory over the Bengals.
FOR THE FOES
- Brooke Tillotson led all scorers with 14-points for the Red Dragons.
