SYRACUSE, NY - The Buffalo State softball team was picked to finish fourth in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Preseason Poll released earlier today. The annual rankings are selected by the head coaches of each member institution. The reigning-SUNYAC Champion New Paltz Hawks were voted first with the Cortland Red Dragons second and Oneonta Red Dragons third.
The Bengals finished the 2024 season with a record of 17-20 (8-10 SUNYAC) including a playoff berth as the sixth seed. Since head coach
Jamie Brown took over the program prior to the 2018 season, the Bengals have been a staple in the conference earning a playoff berth in all but two seasons including a runner-up finish in 2023, and a third place finish in 2024.
Buffalo State will commence the 2025 season with their annual trip to Florida from March 16-22. The Bengals will then return to western New York to host Brockport on March 27 for their home opener as they will begin their chase for a SUNYAC Championship.
