HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Facing the challenge of hosting the #7 Plattsburgh State Cardinals for a weekend series, the Bengals looked to get the momentum going for this matchup. While the first period began as a fight for puck possession, the Cardinals would get their chances on goal netting two-goals in a span of 00:20 seconds and taking a 2-0 lead over the Bengals. This lead would sustain heading into the first intermission with the Bengals down early in this matchup.
  • The second period would see the Cardinals carrying the momentum, scoring another goal within the first 10-minutes of play. Down 3-0 into the second period, the Bengals looked for their answer and get this game within arm's reach. While the effort was there, the chances weren't, with the Cardinals scoring another goal late into the second period, heading into the second intermission up 4-0 on the Bengals.
  • In the third period, the Bengals would come out with a bit more juice and aggression, fighting along the boards consistently in the period. As the Bengals would attempt to apply pressure on the Cardinals defense, they were just too-much in this game, netting their last goal of the day and taking this game from the Bengals, 5-0.
FOR THE FOES
  • Tessa Morris led the Cardinals with two-goals, with Kayson Ruegge, Emily Kasprzak, and Ciara Wall all scoring in today's game.
