GAME BASICS

FINAL SCORE: New Paltz – 62, Buffalo State – 54
LOCATION: Sports Arena – Buffalo, NY

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
  • Matt Parkinson (Springfield Greens, NY/John Browne) and Bryce Williams (Jamaica, NY/Campus Magnet) were the '1-2' duo for the Bengals, with Parkinson leading with 11-points and Williams chipping in with ten points.
  • Chisom Ani (Elmont, NY/John Browne) led the Bengals with nine rebounds.
  • As a team, Bengals shot 37.7% from the floor, while going 20.0% from the three-point arc and 57.1% free-throw line.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After splitting their last two games on the road, the Bengals looked to a return to a packed Sports Arena as fuel to a strong finish to their 2025 campaign. As play began in the first half, the Bengals found themselves behind the 8-ball early, as the Hawks were able to climb to an 11-point lead midway in the half. This would lead to the Bengals going on a 9-0 run, bringing their deficit down to three-points with under five minutes left of play. The Hawks would answer back with a mini run of their own to increase their lead to ten points. As the half ended, the Bengals would enter halftime down by four points.
  • As the second half began, the Bengals would come out strong…chipping away at the Hawks lead and bringing this game to a one-point deficit in the half. Back and forth play would find the Bengals finally claiming a lead in this game, going up by four points with five minutes left of action. However, the Hawks proved to be too much as they went on a 14-0 run to close the half…knocking down the Bengals on their home floor in crushing fashion.
FOR THE FOES
  • Ethan St. Lucia led the Hawks in scoring with 14-points.
  • Isaiah Rivera and Dakoda Smith led the Hawks with eight rebounds apiece.
UP NEXT
Like the women's basketball team, the men's team will get some rest before returning back for action tomorrow evening, as they play host to the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons at 4:00 P.M.
