HOW IT HAPPENED
- After picking up their first win of the 2025 season, the Bengals looked to complete the series sweep of the Colonels. Entering the first period, things looked worrisome for the Bengals, as the Colonels went on the attack early. This early pressure would lead to back-to-back goals from the Colonels, putting the Bengals down midway in the period. The Bengals would hold off the Colonels for the rest of the period but entered the first intermission down 0-2 early in this matchup. The Bengals were outshot ten to five in the period.
- In the second period, the Bengals looked to chip into the Colonels lead but would give up a goal early in the period. The second period would be rough one for the Bengals, as the Colonels would put up three goals in the period and would trail into the second intermission 5-0. The Bengals and the Colonels were tied in shots with 11 each.
- The third period would start in the Bengals fashion, with an early goal from Digges…but the Colonels would answer with their last goal of the day, keeping this matchup at an arm's length for the Bengals. While the third period saw the Bengals push an attack on the Colonels, the lead would be too much to come back from with the Bengals dropping this matchup and splitting the series. The Bengals and the Colonels were tied in shots with six each.
