HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Following three straight draws, including their most recent matchup against the New Paltz Hawks, the Buffalo State Bengals looked to return to the win column in their contest against the Oswego State Lakers.
  • Opening the first half, the Bengals struck first, capitalizing in the 20th minute to take an early lead. The Bengals controlled much of the half, generating several scoring opportunities, but the Lakers' defense held firm, limiting the Bengals to a one-goal advantage heading into the break.
  • Early in the second half, the Lakers found the equalizer, taking advantage of a defensive lapse by the Bengals to knot the game at one apiece in the 58th minute. From there, the Bengals attack reignited, continuing to pressure the Lakers' backline. In the 81st minute, Desmonie buried the go-ahead goal, sparking a late offensive surge. The Bengals followed with two more unanswered goals to seal a decisive road victory over the Lakers.
FOR THE FOES
  • Tajay Ellis scored the lone goal for the Lakers, with Ryan Bullis being credited with the assist.
  • Goalkeeper Kyle Rose made four saves in net in fulltime for the Lakers.
