PLATTSBURGH, NY – The Buffalo State men's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw with Plattsburgh Cardinals this afternoon at the Field House Complex. With the draw, the Bengals earned the number-two seed in the SUNYAC Tournament and earned a first round bye into the semifinals where the will host either Plattsburgh or Fredonia on November 5.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Diego Rivera (East Meadow, NY/Cairo Durham) scored the lone goal for the Bengals with Lesedi Sekhobo (Albany, NY/Shaker) earning the assist.
- With that goal, Rivera has now set the Buffalo State program record for goals (25) and points (58) in a season. The previous record was held by Mike Rudney who scored 24 goals with 55 points during the 1999 season.
- Carson Smith (Big Flats, NY/Horseheads) made three saves in goal in the effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rivera scored late in the first half on a header from Sekhobo's corner kick.
- The Cardinals tried to pressure but the Bengals defense held strong as they carried a 1-0 lead into halftime.
- Plattsburgh finally broke through in the second half with the equalizer to even things at 1-1.
- Despite late pressure from the Buffalo State offense, the Cardinals were able to hold on for the draw.
- The total shots were even at nine apiece with Plattsburgh having the advantage with four on goal.
FOR THE FOES
- Xavier Kamba scored the goal for Plattsburgh with Matthew D'Ippolito making just one save.
