HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Coming off a road victory last night against the Plattsburgh State Cardinals, the Buffalo State Bengals looked to carry their SUNYAC momentum into a matchup with the SUNY Potsdam Bears. Early in the first set, both sides traded points before a three-point rally put the Bears ahead. Not to be outdone, the Bengals responded with a three-point run of their own to close the gap and followed it up with another rally to take the lead midway through the set. In a competitive back-and-forth battle, the Bengals surged late with six straight points to close out the opening set.
  • The second set was all Bengals, as they stormed out of the gates to seize early control. A brief three-point rally brought the Bears closer, but the Bengals quickly answered with a five-point run and later capped the set with four straight points to take a commanding 2–0 lead and set up a potential sweep.
  • In the third and final set, the Bengals once again came out firing with four straight points. The Bears countered with a rally of their own to even the frame, leading to another stretch of back-and-forth action. After briefly falling behind by one, the Bengals responded with consecutive three-point rallies to retake the lead and ultimately close out the Bears in straight sets, securing two SUNYAC road victories for the weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After sweeping the SUNY Potsdam Bears, the Buffalo State Bengals looked to close out their weekend road trip undefeated with a matchup against the Clarkson University Golden Knights.
  • Opening the first set, things initially went against the Bengals, as Clarkson surged ahead with an eight-point rally. Refusing to back down, the Bengals responded with five straight points to stay within reach. As both teams battled for the opening set, the Bengals capitalized on the Golden Knights' miscues and mounted a comeback to take the first set victory.
  • The second set followed a similar pattern, with both sides trading points early in a highly competitive frame. The two teams combined for six three-point rallies and a pair of four-point streaks before the Bengals once again pulled ahead, taking the set and positioning themselves for another straight-set sweep.
  • In the third set, the Bengals jumped out to an early lead before the Golden Knights countered with a four-point rally to grab momentum. The Golden Knights kept the pressure on, stringing together back-to-back three-point runs to claim the third set and avoid the sweep.
  • The fourth set saw the Bengals take control early with a three-point rally to build a cushion. Although the Golden Knights answered with a four-point run, the Bengals quickly countered with one of their own to extend the lead.
