INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Buffalo State Bengals welcomed the SUNY Canton Roos to Coyer Field as they celebrated Homecoming and, most importantly, honored their 2025 senior class. After the festivities concluded and the match began, the Bengals looked to give their seniors a performance to remember. Both teams opened the game battling for control, with strong defensive play on each side slowing the pace. As the halftime whistle sounded, the scoreboard remained locked at 0-0.
  • Coming out of the break, the Bengals pressed forward looking to capitalize on their chances and finally broke through with a goal in the 58th minute. Despite increased pressure from the Roos, the Bengals' backline stayed composed, denying scoring opportunities and keeping control of the match. Their persistence on the attack paid off late, as a penalty in the 84th minute set up Rivera to seal the game with a decisive goal, clinching a memorable Homecoming victory for the Bengals and their seniors.
FOR THE FOES
  • Justin Sarmiento led the Roos in shots with one.
  • Goalkeeper Joey Raap played the full game, making five saves for the Roos.
