- Opening SUNYAC action, the Bengals looked to rebound from a tough overtime loss to Chatham University in their previous matchup.
- In the opening period, the Bengals pushed the pace early, generating sustained pressure in the Bears' defensive zone. The Bears countered with chances of their own, forcing the Bengals to stay strong in front of their net. Credit to both defenses and goaltenders, as neither side broke through, sending the teams into the first intermission scoreless.
- The second period followed a similar script, with both teams trading scoring opportunities but unable to capitalize. A late Bears rush created pressure in the Bengals' zone, but the Bengals held firm, transitioned quickly, and buried the first goal of the night. The Bengals carried a 1–0 lead into the second intermission, looking to finish strong in the third.
- In the third period, the Bengals stayed hot, extending their lead to two midway through the frame. The Bears responded with urgency, scoring back-to-back goals to even the matchup before netting the game-winner in the final minute. The Bengals fell to the Bears in their SUNYAC opener.
FOR THE FOES
- Tegan Konecnik, Coralie Paradis and Jalynn Castro all scored for the Bears, with Castro netting the game-winning goal.
