BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's basketball team earned their first win of the season this evening as they defeated the Hilbert Hawks with a final score of 66-40 at the Sports Arena.

- Mya Brown (Buffalo, NY/Frontier) and Emily Delisle (Mechanicville, NY/Shenendehowa) each chipped in double-figure efforts scoring 11 and 10 points, respectively.
- Isabella Shenandoah-Kurtz (LaFayette, NY/LaFayette) led the team with 15 rebounds.
- The win also marked the first in the head coaching career of Scott Foster.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengals jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead in the opening quarter. Despite a late run from the Hawks, the Bengals led 12-8 after the first quarter of action.
- Buffalo State kept the pressure on as they went into the half leading 31-20.
- Coming out the half, the Bengal offense continued to thrive as their lead grew to as high as 20.
- In the final quarter of action, Buffalo State grew their lead to a game-high 26 as they cruised the final seconds for the win.
- Buffalo State dominated on the boards as they out rebounded Hilbert 51-25 overall.
FOR THE FOES
- Learsi Sabala led the Hawks with 16 points while also tallying three steals.
