BETHANY, WV – The Buffalo State men's volleyball team earned a split at the Bethany Tri-Match this afternoon defeating host-Bethany in four sets before falling to St. Mary of the Woods in three sets at the Hummel Field House.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Malachi Jackson (Buffalo, NY/Cheektowaga) led the Bengals with 12 kills while Hayden McCue (Fairport, NY/Fairport) added 11 of his own.
- McCue also registered a .714 attack percentage across 14 attempts.
- Jackson Stang (Tonawanda, NY/Sweet Home) dished out 23 assists in the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a back-and-forth affair to begin action, the Bengals went on a 7-2 run late to take control of the opening set. The Bengals went on to score five of the final seven points to win the set.
- In the second set, Buffalo State took control, however, the Bison stuck around and scored each of the final three points to even the score at one set apiece.
- Buffalo State jumped out to an early lead in the third set and maintained it much of the way. Despite a late 7-1 run from Bethany, the Bengals were able to hang on and win the third set.
- The Bengals dominated the final set winning 9 of the last 11 points to earn the win.
FOR THE FOES
- Riley Burdett had 10 kills for the Bison with four digs.
- Logan Mills posted 23 assists in the effort.

- Gavin Wilczewski (Elma, NY/East Aurora) led the Bengals with 12 kills while Jackson added nine with a .438 attack percentage.
- Stang gave out another 23 assists in the effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Mary of the Woods jumped out to a swift 9-5 lead before scoring five of the last seven points to win the opening set.
- An early run of seven unanswered points gave St. Mary of the Woods enough of an advantage to win the second set.
- Another early run in the final set was enough for St. Mary of the Woods to secure the final set.
FOR THE FOES
- Joseph Szadorski had 16 kills in the win.
- Kristofers Klavins dished out 30 assists.
