BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State men's volleyball team dropped their home opener against the Roberts Wesleyan RedHawks tonight at the Sports Arena.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Gavin Wilczewski (Elma, NY/East Aurora) led the Bengals with 13 kills.
- Jackson Stang (Tonawanda, NY/Sweet Home) dished out 31 assists while Alex Vega (Cambita Garabitos, Dominican Republic) had 15 digs.
- Hayden McCue (Fairport, NY/Fairport) tallied three blocks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State was strong in the opening set. After taking a 13-12 lead, the Bengals held tough and scored each of the final four points to win the set.
- The RedHawks bounced-back in the second set after holding the lead for much of the action. Roberts Wesleyan was able to even the score at 1-1 after an attack error from the Bengals.
- In the third set, Roberts Wesleyan went on a late 8-2 run to take control and win the set.
- After the RedHawks were up 22-20 in the final set, the Bengals responded with four unanswered points to make it 24-22. After a competitive back-and-forth, Roberts Wesleyan was able to score the final two points to win the match.
FOR THE FOES
- Paul Fillion and Ryan DeJohn each had 12 kills in the win.
- Landon Brouwer had 40 assists with 10 digs.

The Bengals return to action next Tuesday as they travel to Hilbert to battle the Hawks.
