BUFFALO, NY - Brooke Tarshis (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) of the Buffalo State women's wrestling team and Sage Running Rabbit (Siksika, AB/Elite Southern Express) of the Buffalo State women's hockey team have been named Bengal Athletes of the Week for their respective performances this past weekend.

Tarshis, a freshman criminal justice major, had a strong performance for the Bengals at the first ever AMCC Invitational. Tarshis finished first in the 131 lbs. weight class. Tarshis was also named the Co-Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Meet.

The Bengals return to action next weekend as they will compete at NCWWC Regionals hosted by Elmira.

Running Rabbit, a senior health & wellness major, paced the Bengals offense as they went 1-1 against Morrisville over the weekend. Running Rabbit picked up a goal and an assist in Friday's effort against the Mustangs before picking up two more assists in Saturday's thrilling win. Her second assist on Saturday was on the eventual game-winning goal.

The Bengals return to action this weekend as they will travel to Potsdam to close out the regular season.
