INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
  • Carys Ursell (Calgary, AB, Canada/Calgary Fire) led the Bengals with a three-point, netting two goals and picking up an assist for the Bengals. Liz Flores (Colleyville, TX/Dallas Stars Elite) also provided a goal for the Bengals.
  • Jessica Auge (Laingsburg, MI/Honeybaked Detroit) was steady between the pipes, making 29 saves on 32 shots.
  • The Bengals were outshot by the Bears 32 to 30, with the Bears taking 41 wins from the faceoff circle to the Bengals 23.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Bengals looked to close out their 2024-25 season in winning ways, as they entered their weekend series against the SUNY Potsdam Bears. Starting the first period, the Bengals looked to carry out those wishes with an aggressive offense attack on the Bears defense. As play would continue, the Bears would answer back with their own offensive attack, with the Bengals defense looking to keep the Bears off the scoreboard. As the first period would come to an end, both teams would be kept off the scoreboard and walk into the first intermission tied at 0-0.
  • In the second period, the Bengals would get onto the board with an early goal in the first five minutes of the period. Unfortunately for the Bengals, the Bears would answer with a goal of their own, before scoring two more unanswered goals and taking a 3-1 lead over the Bengals. While the Bengals would fight towards another goal before the second intermission, they would find themselves entering the locker room down 3-1 with the final period upcoming.
  • In the third period, the Bengals would once again start hot with a goal in the beginning of the period…chipping their deficit down to a goal. While the Bears would answer with a flurry of shots on goal, it would be the Bengals who'd get the momentum swing with a goal in the 14th minute of play to tie the game at 3-3, with overtime needed to crown a winner.
  • In overtime, both teams would get strong looks on net, with the Bengals getting the most attempts to get the win in overtime but strong goaltending play would hold for both teams with a tie being the result from today's performance.
FOR THE FOES
  • Jalynn Castro led the Bears with two goals today.
  • Maddy Ferguson kept the Bears in the game with 27 saves on 30 shots.
