INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
  • Ashley Tucker (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore West) led the Bengals in the scoring and rebound department, tallying a double-double in today's game with 11-points and ten rebounds.
  • As a team, the Bengals shot 28.8% from the floor, while shooting 18.2% from the three-point arc and 37.5% from the free throw line.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Entering this matchup with the Oswego State Lakers, the Bengals looked to get rid of the late-season funk and pick up a big win against the Lakers. As play began in the first quarter, the Bengals came out poised on both ends of the floor…keeping the Lakers away from the net, while getting baskets on the offensive end. With play notched up at nine-points each, the Bengals finished the first quarter strong, heading into the second quarter with a one-point lead.
  • In the second quarter, the Lakers would come out hot, opening play with a 6-0 run and taking the lead over the Bengals. However, the Bengals would answer back with a 7-0 run of their own, retaking the lead from the Lakers with under five-minutes left of play. The lead wouldn't last too long, with the Lakers finishing the quarter with an 8-2 run and take a five-point lead into halftime over the Bengals.
  • In the third quarter, the Bengals would struggle finding their shots as the Lakers would tighten up on the defensive end. With only six-points made in the quarter, the Bengals would attempt to rely on their defense to keep them in this game. However, the Lakers would take advantage of the Bengals lack of scoring, ending the third quarter on an 8-0 run and taking a 16-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
  • In the fourth and final quarter of today's game, the Bengals found themselves struggling to play 'keep-up' with the Lakers. While some baskets were able to go down for the Bengals, the deficit would prove to be too large for a comeback, with the Bengals going down at home at the hands of the Lakers.
FOR THE FOES
  • Macey DeOrdio led the way for the Lakers in scoring with 18-points.
  • Giavanna Principio-White led the Lakers in rebounds with 12.
UP NEXT
The Bengals will look towards a rivalry series, as well as Senior Day, to get out their slump, as they play host to the Fredonia Blue Devils Friday, February 14th at 5:30 P.M. for the Sports Arena's first 'Battle by the Lake' game this season.
