CLERMONT, FL – The Buffalo State softball team earned a split as they fell to Clarkson but defeated Keuka at day three of THE Spring Games.
GAME ONE BASICS

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Madison Lucas (Oakdale, PA/West Allegheny) paced the Bengals offense with three hits and an RBI.
- Ashley Jedrich (Victor, NY/Victor) picked up two hits and an RBI.
- Izzy Pezdek (Lancaster, NY/Grand Island) got the start for the Bengals going three innings allowing two runs on four hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both sides would remain in a scoreless matchup until Clarkson erupted for six runs in the fourth inning.
- The Bengals offense came to life in the seventh inning with three runs thanks to a triple from Grace Albano (North Tonawanda, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) and singles from Jedrich and Lucas, but Clarkson was able to hold on for the victory.
FOR THE FOES
- Isabel Haspil and Elissa Uveino each had a pair of hits and a pair of RBI for Clarkson.
- Devin Fitzpatrick went five innings and allowed no runs with four strikeouts to earn the win on the mound.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Ella Stewart (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) homered for the Bengals for the second time in as many days.
- Cam O'Hara (Troy, NY/Catholic Central) picked up three hits and an RBI for Buffalo State.
- Jean Rogers (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) was stellar on the mound going six innings allowing just one run with five strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Keuka got the scoring started in the top of the first, the Bengals responded immediately O'Hara knocked a base hit to left to score Albano.
- Albano added another Bengal run with a base hit in the second inning to give Buffalo State an early 2-1 lead.
- Stewart had another homer for the Bengals to extend their lead to 3-1.
- Keuka threatened in the top of the seventh after back-to-back walks, but Gianna Core (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) came in and notched two strikeouts and a groundout to earn her first career save.
FOR THE FOES
- Olivia Flynn scored the lone run for Keuka.
- Flynn also pitched six innings for the Wolves allowing three runs on 11 hits with five strikeouts.

The Bengals are off tomorrow but will return to action on Thursday as they will battle Springfield and Edgewood at 9/11:30 am.
