BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State softball team earned a double-header sweep against the Brockport Golden Eagles tonight on Dobson Field.
GAME ONE BASICS

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Ella Stewart (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) and Megan Galbraith (Lewiston, NY/Lewiston-Porter) each had two hits and an RBI for the Bengals.
- Grace Albano (North Tonawanda, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) picked up a hit and two RBI.
- Izzy Pezdek (Lancaster, NY/Grand Island) picked up the win on the mound pitching five shutout innings of relief with six strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brockport picked up a pair of runs in the top of the second inning. The Bengals were able to get a run back in the bottom of the inning after a base hit from Galbraith.
- The Golden Eagles then added a pair of runs in the next half inning to make the game 4-1.
- Buffalo State came to life on offense with a five run bottom of the fourth inning. The Bengals rallied for five straight hits with two outs to take a 6-4 lead.
- Brockport was held silent the rest of the way as the Bengals came away with a game one win.
FOR THE FOES
- Three Golden Eagles had a hit and an RBI.
- Laina Beer took the loss on the mound allowing eights hits across 3.2 innings pitched.
GAME TWO BASICS

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Stewart picked up a pair of RBI while Madison Lucas (Oakdale, PA/West Allegheny) had two hits and an RBI.
- Pezdek picked up her second win of the evening in relief pitching three innings allowing no runs and a pair of strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both sides exchanged a run in the first inning with Lucas knotting things up in the bottom half of the inning.
- The Bengals then took a 2-1 lead after a throwing error from Brockport in the second inning.
- The Golden Eagles responded quickly with a pair of runs in the third to take a 3-2 lead.
- After an RBI base hit from Stewart in the fourth, the Bengals rallied in the sixth for two more runs to take a 5-3 lead.
- Pezdek shut the door on Brockport in the seventh as Buffalo State came away with a double-header sweep.
FOR THE FOES
- Hadley Alguire pitched a complete game on the mound for Brockport allowing four earned runs on eight hits.
