Softball Lands Six On SUNYAC All-Conference Team

BUFFALO, NY – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its 2025 softball all-conference team today, recognizing six Bengals, the most in a single season since the team had six selections back in 1995. Madison Lucas (Oakdale, PA/West Allegheny), Lexi Quagliana (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South), and Ella Stewart (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) were first team selections while Mya Hurley (Williamsville, NY/Amherst), Deme Kellogg (Gansevoort, NY/South Glens Falls), and Izzy Pezdek (Lancaster, NY/Grand Island) made the second team.
 
Lucas earns First Team All-SUNYAC for the first time in her career earning the honor as the designated player. Lucas led the Bengals batting .379 with 11 doubles, 30 RBI, and an .889 OPS. She was third in the conference in RBI and eighth in on-base percentage (.432). Lucas also had a strong year on the mound for the Bengals, going 6-7 with a 2.40 ERA and 56 strikeouts across 78.2 innings pitched.
 
Quagliana also earned First Team All-SUNYAC for the first time in her career earning a spot as a third base at-large. Quagliana hit .270 on the year with six doubles, two triples, a home run, and 12 RBI while going 13-13 on stolen base attempts. Her stolen base total was in the top 10 in the SUNYAC as she also earned the SUNYAC Elite 20 Award for her efforts in the classroom. In addition, Quagliana is the only Bengal to start all 40 games this season.
 
Stewart is a second time All-SUNYAC selection earning First Team honors as a second base at-large. Stewart earned Second Team All-SUNYAC a year ago at Oneonta before transferring to Buffalo State. The second basemen made an immediate impact in her first season with the Bengals as she hit .325 with 38 hits, five doubles, a triple, and two home runs with 21 RBI. Stewart was second on the team with 24 runs scored and led the team with a .428 on-base percentage.
 
Hurley earns Second Team All-SUNYAC honors after posting another strong season at the plate. The junior captain hit .319 with three homers, 13 RBI, and a .583 slugging percentage. Hurley was also a staple in the Bengals' outfield with a .958 fielding percentage and just one error all season.
 
Kellogg also earns her first All-SUNYAC honor as a Second Team All-SUNYAC pick. Starting in 35 games this season behind the plate, Kellogg hit .306 with five doubles, a triple, and 20 RBI. Behind the plate, Kellogg aided the pitching staff to a SUNYAC-best 2.69 ERA while also throwing out six base runners on steal attempts; tied for the third best mark in the SUNYAC.
 
Rounding out the All-SUNYAC field for the Bengals is Pezdek earning Second Team All-SUNYAC for a second straight season. Pezdek was impressive on the mound for the Bengals pitching to an 11-8 record with a 2.14 ERA and 92 strikeouts across 142.1 innings pitched. Her 1.24 ERA in conference games was the third best mark in the SUNAYC. Pezdek was also dominant at the plate hitting four home runs to lead the team while slugging .500.
