LAST TIME OUT… Last time out, the Bengals traveled down the I-90 to St. John Fisher to compete in the annual Cardinal Classic as a final tune-up before SUNYAC Championships.

Bryan Honan (Cortland, NY/Cortland) paced the Bengals breaking his own school record from earlier this season in the hammer throw with a mark of 54.14 meters, good for third place overall. Makhia Laster (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter) finished second in the long jump at 5.92 meters. Laster also finished second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.24 seconds. Xzavier Goodman (Buffalo, NY/Olmstead) placed third in the shot put. Later, Goodman and Dom Cervellera (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) took home fifth and sixth, respectively in the discus throw.

D'Antonio Lawrence (New Windsor, NY/Cornwall) had a strong showing in the men's long jump as he finished second with a mark of 6.90 meters. Mattia Case (Decatur, IL/MacArthur) was also impressive in the 3,000 steeplechase as he finished fifth with a time of 10:31.99. Nolan Lyon (North Tonawanda, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) was fifth in the 110m hurdles while Zakhiya McQueen (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) was sixth in the women's race.
 
LAST TIME AT SUNYACS… At last year's outdoor championship meet, the men took home sixth while the women were fifth.

Goodman took home first in the shot put as he broke his own school record with a mark of 16.05 meters on his way to being named the SUNYAC Rookie of the Year. Cervellera finished second in the discus throw with the men's 4x400 meter relay also scoring with a sixth place finish.

On the women's side, Laster took home gold in the long jump, second in the 100-meter dash, third in the 200-meter dash, and first as part of the 4x400 meter relay as she was named the Female Most Valuable Performer of the Meet.
 
THE BENGAL MEN BREAKDOWN… For the Buffalo State men, Logan Abate (Green Brook, NJ/Watchung Hills) will be the lone sprinter as he will race in the 100-meter dash. Competing in the hurdles will be Lyon, Julius Arias (Lackawanna, NY/Lackawanna), Jalil Coppedge (Bronx, NY/Ralph R. McKee), and Jasiah Cole (Staten Island, NY/Susan E. Wagner) in both the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles. Buffalo State will also compete in the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays.

Handling the distance events will be Case, Max Chiarella (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls), Sidney Morris (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East), Noah Holden (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence), Christopher Davis (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter), Henry Walsh (Buffalo, NY/St. Joe's), Gabe Chizzonite (Fayetteville, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius), Gio Ventura (Geneva, NY/Geneva), and Josh Mayer (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) spread out across the 800-meter, 1500-meter, 5000-meter, 10000-meter, and 3,000 steeplechase.

In the jumps and throws, the Bengals will feature Lawrence in the long jump and Christian Chance (Valley Stream, NY/Valley Stream) in the triple jump. The shot put will see Goodman, Cervellera, Honan, Joseph O'Connell (West Babylon, NY/Huntington), and Jason Kinder (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) with the discus throw seeing the same crew minus O'Connell (who will compete in the javelin throw). Finally, the hammer throw will showcase Goodman, Honan, and Tyler Spencer (Elbridge, NY/Jordan-Elbridge).

THE BENGAL WOMEN BREAKDOWN… For the Buffalo State women, Laster will compete in her staple events in the 100 and 200-meter dash as well as the long jump. Shamiah Brown (Buffalo, NY/Hutch Tech) will join her in the 200-meter race as well as the 400-meter dash. Buffalo State is also expected to race both the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays. In addition, McQueen will make her outdoor championship debut in both the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles as well as the high jump.

In the distance events, DeeDee Hill (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls), Josie Mason (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown), Jorja Smith (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East), and Aubery Monroe (Lockport, NY/Lockport) will be spread across the 800-meter, 1500-meter, 5000-meter, and 3,0000 steeplechase.

In the throws, Bryanna Herring (Brockport, NY/Brockport) and Marina Mansfield (Lockport, NY/Starpoint) will compete across the shot put, hammer throw, and javelin throw.

SUNYAC LEADERBOARDS… The following Bengals currently sit in the top-10 in the conference in their respective events heading into this weekend:
ASSESING THE COMPETITION… Buffalo State will square-off against Alfred State, Cortland, Fredonia, Morrisville, Oneonta, Oswego, Plattsburgh, Potsdam, Penn State Behrend, SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Delhi.
